Hey @LWebb! Welcome! This is that show that @Nimmy and I are going to: (on the 5th Oct, not sure if there are tickets left, but we could always do next month) or may one of the others if any take your fancy - I've been putting together a list:

Having a wee BBQ at one of @Nimmy’s friends place. They live in a cool old converted mill. BBQ for breakfast.

I'm hosting "Learn command line for complete beginners" this Tuesday (20th September) from 6:30pm in on Kent Road.

We'll be playing a game called Bandit from - Level 0 is how to connect to a server using PuTTY/ssh, then for level 1 the password is in a readme file, level 2 the password is in a hidden file and so on. Teaching new concepts along the way. It's a lot of fun - if you're into that sort of thing.

We need to agree on a better way to do this at the end of presentations. Even a QR code would be a step up.

Should be at for 6:15pm if anybody wants to join us for drinks. Seeing an improvised Harry Potter show - 'Spontaneous Potter' in at 8pm

Interesting 'guided conversation' tonight by @neil . Didn't realise Mastodon was one app using an underlying protocol. Much more to this than I thought!

Giving a talk (or more of a 'guided conversation' 🤓 ) tomorrow night (Tue) in from 6:30pm: "Open source social media: ActivityPub and Mastodon - a gentle introduction"

While these may become a robotics project in the future, right now they’re toys! Who wants to race? 🤗

Two events combined into one this evening - Setting up an Ubuntu web server from scratch & Web programming from scratch in from 6:30pm
It's going to be geektastic! 😂

Talk on Chernobyl, Fukushima and Nuclear Energy tonight hosted by The Glasgow
7:15pm, on Waterloo Street.

My dream for Mastodon is for it to be a viable choice as a publishing platform for any creator. In other words, for people to not feel like they're locked in to Twitter or Instagram if they want to be professionally successful.

I’m first to arrive for a change! It’s a little creepy to be alone down here 🥺
