Just thought I'd share this. I like what they've done with the barcode on this packet of microwave mash potatoes. It's pretty 🤗

"The Scottish comedy circuit has formed a new trade body to try to secure a financial lifeline to save the industry as it stands on the brink of collapse.

The newly-formed Association of Scottish Comedic Arts (ASCA) is demanding urgent talks with Creative Scotland, urging the funding body to finally officially recognise comedy as an art form, so unlocking access to the cash."

To all the instance admins who blocked koyu.space: Next time just ask me before you and 3% of the fediverse decide to yeet my instance from existance. You can't just take my words out of context and blindly follow blocklists. Moderators who are unwilling to evaluate concerns are clearly not made for this job. Boosts are appreciated. If you want to talk to me, give me a call, send me a mail or unblock my instance and send me a DM.

I find it deeply upsetting that children tend to favor closed-source platforms that have glaring security and privacy holes. Look at Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and Discord. I have lost all respect for Discord, because I care about my privacy online.

It's sad to see all the work put into open-source privacy-conscious platforms almost ignored by the younger generation. I believe we need to educate them to choose the safer alternatives to 'mainstream' social media. Take Mastodon, for example.

I bought a dictaphone from a charity shop before lockdown - there was a tape in it. I'm enjoying listening to a wee woman talk about her novel :)

It is indeed bizarre that we have so much cw discourse and people retooting and adding cw's when you, yes you, as an active person with agency, can mute words and triggers and people

tiktok rant

This is what I don't get. Why should we need to use an app simply to upload a video and share it with your friends?

What you're looking for is a hosting service, not an app. We. Don't. Need. An. App.

And the same goes to all the websites that require you to install an app to use them.

Sharing and reading data shouldn't require to execute arbitrary code on your cellphone.

Someone said "is that still a thing?" when I announced I was on Mastodon. Is it?
Boost this so we actually get a few votes maybe? How far can it go?

@tek Over breakfast this morning I was just thinking, people you meet on Twitter feel like acquaintances from work, but people you meet on the fedi feel like actual real friends.
