I don't think the UK Cyber Security Council have commented yet. I do hope they are not trying to cover up this: revk.uk/2021/04/uk-cyber-secur
I had one email from a marketing company asking to delete my blog, but also a news article about my blog was deleted too (reposted elsewhere).?!

Two competing open letters were posted on GitHub towards the end of March, 2021. One of them voices support for Richard #Stallman, the other viciously attacks him and demands that he is kept out of leadership positions in any and all organizations. A simple #Python program can show you the popularity of each of the letters over time on a chart.

"I Like That The Boat Is Stuck" by Sarah Gailey is a far nicer read than you might assume from the title.

For people wondering what this is all about, see x0f.org/@FreePietje/1035528186
which also points to a brilliant post refuting all the lies that led to #RMS's ousting.

So I accidentally visited an Instagram page. The following interaction with the website really should not surprise me.

Website: "Accept cookies from Instagram on this browser?"

Options: "Accept" or "Learn More"

We choose "Learn More"

"Continue to Instagram by accepting cookies?"

Options: "Accept" or "Back"

Choosing "Back" will bring us back to the first "question" (with giant airquotes)

I just discovered this show from the 80s called “the secret life of machines” and it’s absolutely marvelous. I highly recommend anyone here go watch it. The person who made it has now uploaded many of the old episodes and added a updated addendum at the end.

:boost_ok: :ablobcatwave: Please boost this post if you would like the EFF to join the fediverse. :ablobcatbongo:

In a survey the EFF sent me, I suggested they create an account on the fediverse, so they can reach more supporters and support innovative free software that promotes interoperability among platforms, something they've advocated for in the past, too.

If you can boost this post, maybe I'll be able to show them that there are quite a few users who would like them here!

The EFF is the infamous nonprofit organisation that fights for privacy, government transparency, and digital freedom. Their fight is very important, and the EFF is very special to me. https://www.eff.org/about https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_Frontier_Foundation

You can see some of their work here https://www.eff.org/work

In the meantime, you can follow @eff, which is an unofficial mirror of their Twitter.

This is a long shot, but I want to put the power of social media and federation to the test.

My son wants to become a commercial airline pilot when he’s grown up. It would be awesome if we could find a commercial pilot in the fediverse that we can follow and ask questions of.

If everyone who reads this could boost it, it would be much appreciated and it would mean the world to my son if he could get in touch with a real-life commercial pilot! ✈️
